Netflix and Podcasts and Resolutions

2

When the new year started, I resolved to pay more attention to media. Why is everyone always talking about Netflix? What’s a Podcast? Finding time for these things has been my biggest hurdle, but it’s going well. I listen to Podcasts at the gym (because I also resolved to start hitting the gym), and managed to watch a couple episodes (because seasons are daunting) of new TV.

I’ve been most interested in finding Podcasts, and am accepting recommendations here. What I’ve been listening to, and found to be most interesting are these:

This American Life – Episode 360: Switched At Birth

A really captivating story, and one I can’t stop thinking about.

Reply All – Episode 91: The Russian Passenger

these guys are pretty geeky, and I don’t always engage with the way they story-tell. But this episode hit notes of previous blogs .  I also learned about this website: https://haveibeenpwned.com/ which will check your email address (when used as credentials) and spit back if/where it’s been compromised.

The Daily – every single Episode

This is a New York Times daily podcast that brings 20min of news to my morning (or ride home from work). It hits 1-2 major news story per episode, and gives an in-depth overview.

Also on my subscription list: Wait Wait … Don’t Tell Me, New Yorker Fiction. I learned about Up and Vanished, but haven’t started yet.

You want to know what I’ve watched on Netflix? Well, pitifully, so far only 2 episodes of Stranger Things.

So, tell me what you’ve got. I want (but probably don’t have time for) more.
