5 Songs on YouTube Made Better by Upping the Speed

1

I started messing around with the speed settings for videos on YouTube recently and have uncovered some real gems. I wish the slowdown function worked better, but I think that will require some pro (ie: pay-for) tools.

Mariya Takeuchi – Plastic Love

You all knew this one was coming. Bump this one up to 1.25 speed and there’s no stopping yourself from dusting those bell bottoms off that have been sitting in the back of your closet.

Peter Gabriel – Sledgehammer

The beauty of this one is the versatility. I can’t say I had a bad time at any speed (other than the pitiful Normal speed, of course). Bump it up if you’re looking to get the blood rushing and drop it down if you’re looking to find out how unsettling stop-motion video can get.

Ghost – Cirice

Could’ve put Square Hammer on here too, but we don’t need to fall down another Ghost hole, now do we?

Michael Jackson – Off the Wall

This isn’t even Michael Jackson anymore. They spent billions in a lab growing his clone but with his natural voice pitched down an octave and if you ask me, it was money well spent.

The White Stripes – Icky Thump

It goes to show that if you have little regard for consistent tempo and no qualms about throwing in some solos, your song can be played at any speed.
