In the spirit of Thanksgiving, some Simple Technological Advances I’m Thankful For:

Wireless Headphones

This may change once I own a pair, but for now they seem, to me, genius. I already have added Wireless Bose Soundsport to my wishlist for Santa.

Alexa

This is another toy that I don’t own, which seemingly adds to my voyeuristic amusement. It adheres to voice commands, making it possible for me to switch from club music to, say, a Taylor Swift playlist for mealtime undertones.

She’s much more technically advanced than musical playback. She can unlock doors, moderate room temperatures, order a pizza (or an Uber) … etc etc. Amazon has it right, with this one.

turns out this is a Christmas list. Here’s one more:

YETI Beverage Insulator

During a post-season Cubs game, friends assembled in our basement to watch a Win. One particularly smart friend brought his own mug, which was shockingly functional. His beer was ice cold hours into the game. Even overnight, it maintains ice. I don’t have this either, but I want it very badly.
