Mac OS Sequoia

Before you know it, fall will be here. You know what that means? A new Mac OS for your computer! I wanted to write this because, selfishly, it gave me a reason to learn about the new OS. I’ll share a list of new features that Mac OS Sequoia brings. Most of the features are already on Sonoma, but as you’ll see below, Apple is really leaning into AI.

  • Improved Performance and Efficiency: Continued enhancements in speed, battery life, and resource management, particularly for Apple Silicon Macs.
  • Enhanced Privacy and Security: New privacy features, such as more control over app permissions, better tracking prevention, and improved security protocols.
  • Refined User Interface: Updates to the design language to make the system more visually appealing and consistent with other Apple products, possibly with more customization options.
  • Better Integration with iOS and iPadOS: Features like Universal Control, allowing seamless transition between devices, might be further improved. Enhanced Continuity features, such as using the iPad as a second display, could also be expected.
  • Advanced AR Capabilities: With Apple’s focus on augmented reality, there might be more AR features integrated into macOS, possibly leveraging the power of Apple Silicon.
  • More Powerful Built-in Apps: Regular updates to built-in apps like Safari, Mail, and Photos, with new features and performance improvements.
  • Pro Tools for Creative Professionals: Enhanced features for professional applications like Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, and others, taking full advantage of the hardware capabilities of the latest Macs.

As you can see there are more tweaks than new features but that isn’t out of the ordinary. I’m very interested in the Pro Tools for Creative Professionals. This software is used by industry professionals to create films. These tools could be extremely valuable for all the social media giants when it comes to user videos. The production of TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook videos will become even better with these tools at the user’s disposal. Hopefully, there are features on the list that you’re excited about because OS Sequoia will be on your computer soon!
