Understanding Sleep and Recovery
With the start of this new year, I want to share with you something that we could all pay more attention to: our sleep and recovery. I've had my Whoop bracelet for about two months now, and it’s been really helpful to track this data. I got it because I wanted to improve my rest and recovery, and it has made a noticeable difference. Before I had Whoop I thought I was getting enough sleep. And like a lot of people, I’d go to bed, wake up, and think I was totally fine. But once I started tracking my sleep, I learned that I wasn’t getting as much rest as I needed. The same was true with recovery; I thought my body was recovering well from workouts, but Whoop showed me that I need to pay more attention to my rest.
I’ve tried using other devices before, like the Apple Watch and Fitbit, but Whoop works better for me. It’s not bulky, so I don’t even notice it on my wrist (that was a problem with the other devices). Plus, I don’t have to take it off to charge, which means I'm always wearing it and always tracking my data. When it comes to accuracy, I’ve found it to be more reliable than trackers I've used in the past.
The best part is how the Whoop app helps me make changes. I can track things like my strain, sleep, and recovery, and the app gives me helpful advice based on those metrics. It’s not just about looking at numbers, it’s about using that information to improve my day-to-day. Since I started using it, I’ve noticed real benefits. I can push myself on days when I’m well-rested, and know when to take time to rest up.
This experience has shown me that we might not understand our body's needs as fully as we think. Whoop has helped me understand my sleep and recovery better, and I feel like I can make smarter choices about my day, every day.
2025 is gonna be great!
