MSP

What is an MSP?  Why might it be right for your company?

This is interesting to me because the word MSP is thrown around, and the definition becomes unclear. I want to nail down the fundamentals and expectations of an MSP, from the eyes of a client.

DEFINITION

A Managed Service Provider is the proactive management of an IT asset or object by a third party. The operative distinction that sets apart an MSP is the proactive delivery of their service, as compared to reactive IT services (break/fix), which have been around for decades. It is a true IT partnership.

WHAT ARE THE CHARACTERISTICS?

  • Builds a solution that best supports your business need
  • 24×7 monitoring and management of your networks, servers, users, desktops/laptops, security, and data
  • Remote and onsite maintained services
  • Comprehensive reporting, analysis, and consultation
  • Help desk services
  • Predictable billing

BUT REALLY, WHAT ELSE?

  • Sets an IT budget by determining a fixed monthly fee
  • Reporting Reporting Reporting
  • Minimizes costly downtime by forecasting disasters before they occur
  • Minimal “fighting fires”
  • Creates an alignment of planning and goals between our clients and Birds on a Cable
  • Customizable plans to fit an array of vertical market
  • Education on newest trends

WHAT’S MOST IMPORTANT?

Any IT company can provide Managed Services, but to do so with customer service is what sets Birds on a Cable apart.  There is no trust, no goal, and no partnership without the ability to deliver service at highest level possible.  Birds on a Cable is motivated to provide this white glove service to all our clients.  Ask us for a reference.
