Intentionally Overcomplicating Situations

I finished a small project over the weekend that seemed interesting (to me, anyway). We have a device in our living room called a Steam Link, which effectively allows streaming video games to your TV over ethernet from a computer in your house. I recently discovered that, due to the Steam Link needing exclusive access to the computer while a game is streaming and my flourishing digital life (i.e., I’m on my computer too much), my girlfriend was unable to play some games at her leisure.

The Apple Store

I had a pretty great experience at the Apple Genius Bar last week.

….I’m really struggling to move on from that sentence without acknowledging pure disdain for the term, “Genius Bar.” And while I still feel that contempt, I grew a new appreciation for the fleet of geniuses hurrying around. Most of my time was spent waiting, so I casually listened in on a support session between an Apple tech and an older couple who had brought in 2 iPads, 2 iPhones and a piece of paper littered with illegible passwords. The Apple Genius working with those Karens might be the most patient human I’ve ever had the pleasure to observe. He may deserve the title. Knowledge of people like him existing in this impatient world and outperforming in a job that so closely relates to mine, well, I learned a lot.
