Sideways

Nah, I’m not talking about the movie. Sideways is not only a great way to explain 2020, but it’s also a great position for a mouse (the computer peripheral, not the rodent).

In my time spent outside of Birds, I teach yoga, and I have a passion for the longevity of movement in our bodies. Over the span of our lives, we subject ourselves to modern living which includes sitting or standing for long periods of time, occupational habits, playing sports and working out. We also get injured in accidents. These events affect us, and if we’re not aware of what we’re doing or have done, we’ll most likely normalize pain and discomfort for too long.

How to Search

I’m here to blow your mind.

Recently I learned a trick that is probably something I should have known since the dawn of the internet. I won’t get too down about my lack of education; it’s nice to have joyful tidbits of information peppered throughout my web-surfing life.

Here goes: Recently I read an article about what to cook while we’re all spending so much more time at home. The author even recommended keeping a journal of recipes during the pandemic as a sort of keepsake from this time. I started thinking back to March, and the wintry-weather-induced potpies we were making. The beef stews. There was some cauliflower recipe I found in the NewYork Times … what was it? I think it had olives. So, I searched “@nytimes.com cauliflower olives” in my browser address bar, and BOOM! Third hit.

Mindhunter

After exhausting many series and tv viewing options over the course of quarantine, I have recently discovered something I’m surprised I haven’t heard about earlier. For anyone who enjoys real crime dramas, it doesn’t get a whole lot better than this. The show is called Mindhunter, and it’s a Netflix original. It’s not for any squeamish types so be forewarned and wait until the kids go to bed.
