Google Duplex: Enabling Your Asocial Predilections

Remember that one time, around this time last year, when I spoke of Google’s SCARY (but awesome) artificial intelligence phone call?

Well, IT’S HERE !!!

Google has begun rolling out Duplex to all Android phones running Android 5.0 or newer, which means most users who have the Google Assistant app will have this feature with the next update. Google even decided to bless iPhone users with the same function (for those who embrace the Light, and have installed the Google Assistant app on their phone). Exact rollout dates vary, but updates are being pushed to Android phones as I type. I used it earlier to book a reservation for dinner, and it is just as glorious as I thought it would be.

While we’re on the topic, Google also rolled out a new Google Assistant voice: JOHN LEGEND. Yes, folks, you read right. Anytime you want to hear the smooth, seductive voice of 10-time Grammy award winning John Legend, all you have to do is say “Hey Google” into your phone.

I only hope they used John Legend’s voice to place that reservation…
