I’ve sifted through my fair share of browser extensions for blocking unwanted pop-ups, website redirections, and intrusive ads throughout the years. AdBlock Plus was the first that I ditched due to stability issues and its attempts at monetization. Privacy Badger and Ghostery were two that I tested around the same time, and while they worked well, they also required a fair amount of manual upkeep to work optimally.
Currently I’m using uBlock Origin. It blocks most unwanted website elements out of the box, is easily toggle-off-able if it is breaking a webpage, and it has low resource footprint. Overall, I would recommend it to anyone… for now.
