Given the current state of the world, my guess is that you haven’t been checking out tech trends. Well, you’re in luck. Around this time of the year, all the heavy hitters in the tech world seem to come out with a new gadget or update that gets people excited. It usually starts with a new iPhone release, and then the rest of the industry attempts to counter with their latest product for the masses, and people go crazy (remember the lines for the new iPhone or Playstation?)! I have good news: this year certainly won’t be a stinker when it comes to electronics:
Apple iPhone 12 5G –
Like every year, Apple will launch the next iPhone at its fall event. They are very secretive about new iPhones, but early reports hint at an all-new design, removal of the notch, an ultrasonic TouchID sensor, and 5G connectivity. iOS 14 is currently being rolled out in Beta right now.
Microsoft’s Surface Neo and Duo –
Honestly I’m not sure these have a release date, but they are something to be excited about. Microsoft has been showcasing these dual-screen devices for the last year. The Duo runs Android, but isn’t exactly a smartphone; the Neo is a cross between a laptop and tablet.
Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 –
Samsung is obsessed with these folding cell phones. Last year’s model was a flop, so they dusted themselves off and improved the new model. Apparently, it will have a much friendlier price tag. If I don’t mention the Samsung Galaxy S11+, my fellow Bird, Jordan would kill me. It’s the best performing phone every year, and this year won’t be any different.
Sony PS5 and Microsoft Xbox Series X –
Talk about people going crazy… The new PS5 + Xbox will be released around Christmas and people will go bananas to buy them before the holiday. These gaming systems are extremely powerful. The specs are tremendous and apparently, they will be priced right around $400, which isn’t too bad. Tell your kids to start putting money into the piggybank and work them all summer with chores 😊
Well, there you have it. Start planning, because these gadgets will be released before you know it. I will be getting an Xbox or PlayStation. If anything, COVID’s taught me how boring being inside is with nothing to do. Might even get a headset. Who knows? Let’s go crazy!
