A (Somewhat) Fancy Watch

After lazily troubleshooting for months, R.I.P., FitBit. Apparently, FitBits don’t last very long, and I didn’t find it economical to continue purchasing a mediocre piece of tech every 1.5-2 years. Enter the Apple Watch SE.

I’ve been hesitant to purchase an Apple Watch because I don’t want to have 12 things buzzing and ringing every time I get a text or an email. I want to track my steps, heart rate, and activity time. I like to know my sleep stats, too. The FitBit screen always woke me up in the middle of the night when I shifted, and the Apple Watch understands to leave me alone. Knowing a text comes in is sometimes nice. Outside of that, I don’t need much else. I learned that the watch is very customizable, so I deleted most of the apps available (e.g., I don’t need Alaska Air, American Air, and Hawaiian Air notifications) and customized notifications to pair it down to the bare minimum.

Although I’m not using every bit of technology available to me on my watch, it is still less expensive to purchase an Apple Watch fewer times than to purchase a FitBit more often. And if I want to add the Fancy Features to the watch, I can.
