Behold: the iPhone 12

I was lucky enough to get my hands on an iPhone 12 this season. I jumped from the 8 to the 12 and there were definitely some new tricks I had to learn. Here are my personal experiences:

Home Button = ByeBye.
The home button and I had a 12-year relationship, and then it just up and vanished. I knew it had disappeared with the iPhone 11, but I wasn’t able to understand the concept ‘til now. Do I like it less/more? I’m pretty neutral about it, to be honest. I sometimes miss it, but I’m adjusting well, too. Swiping from the bottom up isn’t so bad.

I use my face more.
Instead of unlocking the phone with my fingerprint, I can unlock with facial recognition. Cool? Sure. Creepy? Definitely. I’m still uncomfortable with technology knowing my physical body (and that it’s listening to me). Let’s just say I’m leaning in, though hesitantly. Face recognition with a mask is a little annoying, but I’d rather punch in my passcode than be sorry.

Is this thing on Energizer Batteries?!
The battery life for this phone is far superior to the 8, of course. And who knows what it will be like a year from now. The phone comes with a USB-C cable, only (for faster charging). But that’s it – no cube or anything. If you’re lucky to have a USB-C charger on your computer, great. If not, you’ll have to purchase a cube or just use your old iPhone chargers. What’s fancy is that you can also use a MagSafe charger.
P.S. there are no headphones in the box. I repeat, NO HEADPHONES (I was hoping for AirPods) in the BOX!

Other honorable mentions
-5G (I haven’t been out of the house enough to notice)
-Sleek design, somewhat similar to iPhone 4
-Dual camera lenses for quality photos
